The odd-even scheme may return during the winter, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said.

Responding to a query on the future of the road-rationing measure during the ‘Talk to AK’ session, he said it would be again considered during the winter months when the pollution levels remain on the higher side.

“We will surely think of implementing it. Transport Minister (Satyendra Jain) has already said that pollution goes up during winter months. So we will think of implementing it during the winter months,” Kejriwal said.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia backed Kejriwal, saying that more steps need to be done to improve the public transport system.

“The Lt Governor had stopped the bus aggregator service. Our ultimate objective is to improve public transport,” Sisodia said.

Delhi Transport Satyendra Jain recently told a group of reporters that there was no need to implement the third phase of odd-even scheme during monsoon as pollution is usually at its lowest level during the period.

“Whenever the scheme is implemented, it would be in the winter season when the pollution levels are high,” he had said.
