Showcause notice: JNU gives students 2 more days to reply

The final "quantum of punishment" for the students will be decided on the basis of response to the notices.

JNU authorities Wednesday extended the deadline for replying to showcause notices — served to 21 students of the university who have been found “guilty of violating norms” during the February 9 event — till March 18. They were earlier given time till March 16.

On Wednesday night, the JNU Students’ Union held a Council Meeting on the High-Level Enquiry Committee Report. The JNU Teachers’ Association will hold a General Body Meeting on the issue Friday.

On Tuesday, Chief Proctor A Dimri had said the “quantum of punishment” for each student will be decided after they respond to the notices.
