A constable has been arrested for allegedly forcing a victim of the prostitution racket to perform oral sex inside a police vehicle,officials said.
Director General of Police Aditya Arya ordered immediate suspension and arrest of Vishwavijay Digambar Parab,attached to Mapusa police station,on Friday following the complaint by a 21-year-old woman.
On August 11,the woman escaped from clutches of the prostitution racketeers and went to Mapusa police station.
However,two police constables there took her out in a jeep,and Parab forced her to perform oral sex,she said.
Later she was brought back to the police station,tortured,and kept in illegal detention for several hours at another police station in North Goa,she alleged.
Police spokesman John Aguiyar said on Saturday the constable was found to have misbehaved with the woman.
He has been booked under various sections of IPC,including sections 377 (unnatural offences).
Officials who questioned the woman said she had been promised a job at a casino and brought to Goa from Mumbai. After coming here she was forced into prostitution.
The racketeers were being arrested,police said,adding the kingpin,a woman from Mumbai,was arrested last night.
