Diljit Dosanjh has once again created history as tickets for his Dil-Luminati India Tour were sold out within minutes of it being available for sale. On Thursday, the tickets went on sale for the public at 1 pm, and within minutes they were all sold. This was after the pre-sales for the concerts began on Tuesday for HDFC Pixel Credit Card holders. Those too sold out within minutes.
The cheapest ticket was priced at Rs 1499 for the Silver Area. The Golden Area was sold for Rs 3999, Rs 4999, and Rs 5999 in different phases. The other areas were the fan pits, which were sold at Rs 9999 and Rs 12999. These include the ones where the Early Bird Discount was provided for the ones who managed to make the cut.
In an interview with NDTV, Janamjai Sehgal, Business Head of Saregama India Ltd. and organiser of Diljit Dosanjh’s concert said, “We’ve already sold 1.5 lakh tickets. We are bound by venue limitations, and while there is enormous demand, due to the rules, regulations, and venue capacities, we’re expecting around 2 lakh people across 10 venues.”
He added, “On the first day of pre-sale, 8-10,000 transactions were made in a single minute. We sold 1 lakh tickets within 15 minutes. People are going to be surprised by the Delhi show. We’re doing one of the biggest setups that people in India have ever seen.”
In Delhi, only two ticket categories were available–Gold (Phase 3) and Fan Pit–which were priced at Rs 12,999 and Rs 19,999, respectively.
Diljit Dosanjh’s India tour will kick start on October 26 in Delhi followed by Hyderabad (November 15), Ahmedabad (November 17), Lucknow (November 22), Pune (November 24), Kolkata (November 30), Bangalore (December 6), Indore (December 8), Chandigarh (December 14), and Guwahati (December 29). In the two-months-long tour, the Punjabi singer-writer will visit 10 Indian cities. In between, Diljit will be travelling to Abu Dhabi on November 9 for the Middle East leg of Dil-Luminati.
Before his India tour, Diljit will kick start his Europe tour on September 19 in Paris.
