University of Sheffield to offer Computer Science Scholarship worth £2,000

The candidates does not have to apply for scholarship, they are automatically awarded to all eligible students when they commence their studies in the department.

The University of Sheffield, UK has introduced the Computer Science Excellence Scholarship 2024 for foreign students seeking undergraduate enrollment at their university in the Department of Computer Science for up to £2,000.

This scholarship will be awarded to candidates based on their academic excellence when they are admitted for full-time undergraduate programme in September 2024 at the Department of Computer Science.

Candidates will receive the scholarship in the form of a cash bursary and they do not have to apply for the same, as it will be automatically awarded to all eligible students when they commence their studies in the department.

Eligibility for Computer Science Excellence Scholarship 2024 

– Secure score equivalents or above A*A*A, with mandatory A* in mathematics

– Choose the University of Sheffield as per their first preference in the UCAS 2024 application process

– Apply for full time undergraduate programmes in computer science departments

– Classified as overseas students (for tuition fee reasons)

– Enrolled in all prerequisite subjects of their course.

During the compulsory or optional study abroad industry period, candidates will not receive stipends. Students enrolled in the university pathway programmes are also not eligible. However, if a student is receiving a scholarship from another institution besides the University of Sheffield, the combined amount should ensure the candidate is not fully funded for tuition fees.

Conditions of scholarship amount 

– Students obtaining an overall A*A*A* in their class 12, including an A* in mathematics will be awarded a scholarship of £2,000.

–  While candidates with a total  A*A*A score or above in class 12, including an A* in mathematics will be awarded a scholarship of £1,000.

Students are requested to contact the undergraduate admission team of the Computer Science departments at the University of Sheffield to confirm the exact equivalent marks of A*A*A* and A*A*A grades for Indian students from various boards through the email id — ug-compsci@sheffield.ac.uk

As per the official website, for Indian candidates appearing for CBSE, CISCE and Maharashtra State Board the A*AA is equivalent to 90 per cent. Similarly for West Bengal Board students, the A*AA is equal to 90 per cent while all the other state boards securing 91 per cent will be considered the same as A*AA.

After the admission, student securing at least 70 per cent will be automatically awarded a scholarship stipend of £1,000 each subsequent academic year after the commencement of their academic year in October 2024.
