NEET UG: Udaipur boy Parth Khandelwal was inspired to become a doctor when his sister cleared NEET UG 2019 and got selected for MBBS at SMS Medical College, Jaipur. He realised how noble the profession is and became determined to clear the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG.
Khandelwal secured an India rank 10 in NEET UG 2023 with 715 marks out of 720. He secured a seat at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He wants to pursue medicine in future and wants to specialise in dermatology.
He spoke to indianexpress.com about how he cleared NEET UG with flying colours.
I would study from 8 am to 8 pm. I would usually be at the coaching during this whole duration as there was more discipline and like-minded students. Also, there used to be zero distractions and one could give their whole attention only to NEET preparation. I would go home only to eat, sometimes, I would skip that too. Even during no-class days, I would prefer going to the coaching centre than studying at home.
I would wake up at 7 am and reach my coaching by 8 am. I would stay at my coaching till 8 pm and once I would return home, I would relax a bit and watch some TV. I would again study till 12 am and then sleep.
I primarily studied from NCERT and practised it very thoroughly, other than that I relied on the coaching modules.
My syllabus was completed by December as I had started preparing for NEET UG since Class 11. I had nearly 5 to 6 months for revision. During that time, I first revised the syllabus of Class 11 and then Class 12. After that, I focussed on important topics. I ensured that I practised NCERT books a lot during the last few months before the NEET.
Confidence is very important and that can be achieved if you study daily and appear for mock tests. Focus on NCERT, do not miss it. If you feel stressed, talk to your family and friends.
