Surat to host pre-Vibrant Gujarat seminar on textile sector on Nov 23

The day-long seminar will start at 9.30 am and will divided into three sessions.

Union Minister for Textiles, Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Piyush Goyal, will inaugurate a pre-Vibrant Gujarat seminar on the textile and apparel sector at the international exhibition-cum-convention centre of Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) at Sarsana in Surat on November 23.

The event, to be organised by the state industries department, will see over 550 industry stakeholders in attendance.

Surat District Collector Ayush Oak said, “As a part of the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit to be held at Gandhinagar in January 2024, the state government has organised a pre-Vibrant Gujarat seminar on the textile and apparel sector… The event partners for the seminar are ASSOCHAM, CII, FICCI and SGCCI.”

The experts will speak on the “five F – Farm, Fibre, Fabric, Fashion and Foreign – a future vision for textiles for the developed India in 2047”, he added.

The day-long seminar will start at 9.30 am and will divided into three sessions. The seminar will see ASSOCHAM chairman Sohel Nathwani speaking on the role of Gujarat’s textiles in a developed India, followed by others.

Besides Goyal, the event will also be attended by Union MoS for Textiles and Railways, Darshana Jardosh; Gujarat MoS for Home Harsh Sanghavi and state Industries Minister Balwantsinh Rajput.
