Two killed in road mishap at Dive Ghat on Pune Saswad Road

Two persons died and a few others were left injured after a tanker dashed two vehicles and over turned about a fifty feet down into the valley at Dive Ghat on the Pune Saswad road around 8.30 pm on Monday.

A team of Loni Kalbhor police station of Pune city police and Pune Fire Brigade rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the mishap.

Senior police inspector Dattatraya Chavan said a tanker carrying industrial alcohol was going to a company in Hadapsar. It is suspected that the driver of the tanker lost control on the slope of Dive Ghat on Pune Saswad road. Due to it, the tanker went on to hit two two-wheelers. Tanker also slipped into the valley and overturned.

Police said two persons driving the two-wheelers have died in the mishap. Process of identifying them and lodging the first information report (FIR) in this case was on.

Meanwhile, two persons including the driver were stuck inside the driver’s cabin of the tanker. Fire brigade team rescued them. Injured persons were taken to a hospital for treatment.
