Dhruv Sitwalla showed tremendous grit and determination to hand former world champion Geet Sethi a shocking defeat and enter the semifinals of the billiards event of the National Billiards Championships at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana here on Friday.
Sitwalla,representing PSPB,upset Sethi of Gujarat 4-2 [151-47,31-151,43-150,152(101)-60,152-73,151-116.
Pankaj Advani,Alok Kumar,and Bhaskar Bhalchandra also made it to the semi finals of the tournament after defeating their respective opponents. Advani of PSPB defeated Ashok Shandilya of Railways 4-1 [151-28,152-73,150-54,21-150,151(147) while Alok Kumar of PSPB beat Shyam Jagtiani of Railway 4-0 [152(150)-29,151(94)-100,151-70,150-34. Bhaskar Bhalchandra of Karnataka defeated Rupesh Shah of PSPB 4-2 [151(81)-21,150(150)-00,150(150)-21,152-102,150-3,151-126(124).
