4 dead as car rams into stationary truck on Mumbai-Pune expressway

Four people were killed when their car hit the divider of the road and then collided into a stationary truck on the Mumbai-Pune expressway on Thursday evening.

The police said that the car, which was going towards Pune, lost control following the bursting of a tyre, causing the vehicle to hit the divider and then ramming into a truck parked on the side of the road.

The front part of the car was severely damaged and the four people inside the car died.

Police Inspector Vanita Dhumal said the mishap took place at around 5 pm. Dhumal added that the cops were trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased.
