Youth held for sexually assaulting six-year-old cousin

According to the police, on Thursday, when the girl’s mother, who is a housewife, had gone out for some work, and there was no one at home, the accused youth took advantage of this and allegedly sexually assaulted and molested the minor girl.

The matter surfaced after the minor girl experienced pain in her private parts and informed her mother. The girl’s mother informed her husband and approached police on Friday and lodged a complaint.

A medical examination of the girl at the Bhabha hospital confirmed penetrative sexual assault on the girl, a source said.

Police wasted no time and immediately arrested the accused youth from the area.

Police have visited the crime scene and collected some samples for forensic examination.

The accused youth has been charged under sections 64 of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and 6, 8, 10, and 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, a police officer said.
