A day after protesting Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil demanded the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his two deputies to break his fast, Shinde Wednesday said that he will take a call about his visit to Jalna later due to his existing schedule.
The chief minister also said that his Cabinet colleagues are in talks with Jarange Patil and that the government will take further decisions after that.
“Our ministers are in talks with Jarange Patil. Today also ministers met him and held talks. Once that is done, we will take decision about it later,” Shinde told reporters in Mumbai.
Earlier in the day, Jarange Patil had said that he is expecting Shinde’s visit at the protest site in Jalna.
While announcing his decision to give one-month time to government to decide on the reservation and withdraw his hunger strike, Jarange Patil Tuesday laid down a few other conditions to the government. These included withdrawal of cases registered against Maratha protesters, the guarantee of providing Kunbi caste certificates to Marathas after 30 days and the presence of CM Shinde and his two deputies at the time he would break his fast among others.
