The Central Railway in Mumbai has announced a mega block of train services on its suburban lines on Sunday for carrying out various engineering and maintenance works.
As per an official statement, the mega block will be operated on the Matunga-Mulund Up and Down fast lines from 11.05 am to 3.55 pm. Following this, Down fast line services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai from 10.25 am to 3.35 pm will be diverted via the Down slow line between Matunga and Mulund stations, halting as per their respective schedules. Fast trains beyond Thane will be re-diverted on the Down fast line and will arrive 15 minutes behind schedule.
Services on the Up fast line leaving Thane from 10.50 am to 3.46 pm will be diverted via the Up slow line between Mulund and Matunga, halting as per schedule, and will be re-diverted via the Up fast line before reaching its destination 15 minutes behind schedule.
The mega block will also be operated on the Kurla-Vashi Up and Down harbour lines from 11.10 am to 4.10 pm. Services to Panvel/Belapur leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai from 10.34 am to 3.36 pm on the Down harbour line, and Up harbour line services towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai leaving Belapur from 10.16 am to 3.47 pm will remain cancelled.
As per a Central Railway official, special suburban trains will run on the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai–Kurla section during the block period. Harbour line services will be available between Thane-Vashi/Nerul stations from 10 am to 6 pm during the period.
There will be no block on the Western Railway suburban section from Churchgate to Dahanu.
