A woman has been arrested on Wednesday after her friend allegedly sexually assaulted her 15-year-old daughter, police said.
According to personnel of Nirmal Nagar police station, the woman’s friend allegedly raped the minor multiple times between 2022 and 2025.
In her complaint, the minor girl also told police that her mother forced her to undress on video call several times between December 2024 and January 8, 2025, with the friend and threatened her against telling anyone about it.
The girl, a school student, lives with her mother as her father divorced her mother and lives separately.
The girl underwent medical examination where doctors found that the sexual assaults also caused her infection, police said. Ramesh Wagh, senior inspector of the Nirmal Nagar police station, said, “We have arrested the accused mother and are looking for the man who sexually assaulted the minor girl. We will soon nab him.”
Police have charged the accused mother and her friend under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for rape, molestation, threats, and child sex abuse, another officer said.
