GoAir passengers create ruckus over flight delay

Passengers of a GoAir flight to Bangalore created a ruckus after their flight was delayed by over eight hours at the Mumbai airport.

Passengers of a GoAir flight to Bangalore created a ruckus after their flight was delayed by over eight hours at the Mumbai airport on Thursday afternoon. The flight which was scheduled to depart at 2.45 pm took off around 11 pm,airport officials said.

A Mumbai International Airport Limited spokesperson said that the delay caused a lot of anger amongst some passengers. “The passengers got a little restless and took up the matter with airline officials demanding compensation for the delay. CISF personnel were present to ensure the situation did not escalate,” said an airport official.

GoAir officials said the aircraft was delayed because of weather problems over Delhi in the morning.

“The Delhi-Indore-Delhi flight was delayed because of weather problems in the morning. As the same aircraft was to be deployed on Mumbai-Bangalore sector,it led to delays,” said a GoAir spokesperson.
