Mumbai police on Wednesday arrested an angadia operator (courier service provider and cash movers) and booked three of his associates for allegedly forcing two teenagers, including a minor, into a car, taking them to Pune from Parbhani and then to Mumbai, and confining them in a room in South Mumbai after catching them trying to steal money.

The accused assaulted the two teens with a belt, kicked them and forced them to have sex in front of them and video recorded the act. Mumbai police were investigating the matter further and looking for other accused.

As per the police complaint filed with LT Marg police station, on July 4 the accused operator and his associates caught the two teenagers attempting to steal their cash from the angadia’s Parbhani office. The four allegedly forced the two teenagers into a car in Parbhani and drove them to Pune, and from there brought them to Mumbai. Along the way, they allegedly assaulted the two teenagers inside the vehicle.

After this, the four allegedly confined the two teens in their south Mumbai office, where they assaulted the duo with a belt and kicked them, the 19-year-old complainant teenager alleged in the FIR. The accused also forced the two teens to commit an unnatural sexual act and filmed it, he added in his statement to the police.

After beating the two, the four accused handed them to Kurla Government Railway police (GRP) as the minor boy, who used to work at the Angadia operator’s office, had previously stolen nearly Rs 4 lakh cash a few months ago and had fled.

Kurla GRP took him into their custody and sent him to the child correction home in Dongri, while the 19-year-old was let off. Later, he approached the LT Marg police station and filed a complaint against the angadia. Police immediately registered a POCSO Act case and arrested the angadia operator and sent a team to Parbhani to nab three other accused, an officer said.
