Mumbai’s Malwani police have sent notice to BJP MLA Nitesh Rane asking him to appear before them and share whatever information he has regarding late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh’s former manager Disha Salian’s death. Rane has been claiming that Salian has not died by suicide.

A senior officer confirmed that Rane was served a notice on Thursday by the Malwani police. Rane can come any day as per his convenience, said the officer.

Salian had allegedly died by suicide on June 8, 2020, a week before the actor’s death by suicide a week later.

Sushant Singh’s death case was transferred to the CBI which has since the past two years not mentioned anything about the details of the probe and has not taken any action against anyone.

Disha Salian briefly handled Rajput’s publicity. The police in 2021 had closed the inquiry after they found no evidence of foul play.

Amid allegations, the Maharashtra government in December 2023 formed a three-member SIT under the leadership of the additional commissioner of police (north region) to look into Salian’s death case once again.

Ever since the death of Salian and Rajput, Rane had used several accounts on social media platforms to claim that the two deaths were linked and a “politician” played a role in the death of Disha Salian, referring to Aditya Thackeray.

An officer who was a part of the probe said that they had made a list of allegations that had been made regarding her death and found no evidence of the same.
