65-year-old businessman stabbed to death at his Kandivali office by unidentified men

The police have formed nine teams to nab the unidentified men who killed the businessman in the Charkop area in Kandivali (west).

Two unidentified people killed a 65-year-old businessman with a sharp object at his office in the Charkop area in Kandivali (west) on Sunday, the police said, adding that some financial disputes appeared to be behind the murder.
The Charkop police identified the deceased as Mohad Ayub Sayyed, 65, who lived in Malad, had a metal-related business, and owned factories in Vasai and Charkop.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandip Jadhav said the assailants appeared to be people known to Sayyed and that they had gone inside his office with a bag containing sharp objects.
“The accused were captured in a CCTV camera installed at the factory. We have their pictures and are trying to identify them. So many people are being questioned in connection with the incident,” Jadhav said.
Both assailants entered the office around 11.30 am and stayed for more than half an hour. They stabbed Ayub multiple times in his abdomen, back, and hands with sharp weapons before fleeing the crime scene, according to the police.
According to the police, CCTV footage showed the duo were seen coming out of the factory empty-handed after the murder. The police also recovered the bag with sharp objects, which was kept in a water tank on the factory premises.
The police have formed nine teams from zone 11 to nab the murderers. The crime branch is also conducting a parallel investigation.
An officer who is part of the investigation said the police were looking into all possible angles, even though some financial disputes appeared to be behind the murder.
According to the police, Sayyed had rented out half of his Charkop factory, situated in the Government Industrial Estate. His two sons also helped him in the business.
