35-year-old found dead in hotel room

Victim was identified from the documents found from the room and the body was sent for post-mortem.

A 35-year-old resident of Sirsa in Haryana was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a hotel near the railway station on Sunday.

Identified as Subhash Chander, he came to Ludhiana for business meetings and was staying at Hotel Sartaj. The mystery in the case was further heightened when a woman who was accompanying him went missing after his death. This led to the police looking at the incident as a possible case of murder.

The hotel staff told police that the unidentified woman had approached the hotel reception asking for a doctor as Chander was allegedly not feeling well. The body was later found inside the room, following which the staff called the police. The victim was identified from the documents found from the room and the body was sent for post-mortem.

Inspector Dharampal, SHO, division number 1 police station, said the police have informed the family of deceased and efforts are on to trace the woman. He added that police are waiting for the post-mortem report for further investigation.
