Delhis chief minister-designate Arvind Kejriwal has already picked his principal secretary Rajendra Kumar,a 1989-batch IAS officer. He is learnt to have met Kejriwal at his residence in Kaushambi on Tuesday.
At present the secretary,higher education and information technology,47-year-old Kumar,like Kejriwal,is an alumnus of IIT-Kharagpur.
Kumar served as the VAT commissioner before he was transferred to the Transport department in October 2012.
He was removed from the post within three months for allegedly having ruffled many feathers.
During his tenure as the power secretary,Kumar played a crucial role in blocking the then Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) Chairman Bijendra Singhs order regarding lowering of power tariff,which one a top priority on Kejriwals agenda.
Chief secretary D M Spolia also met Kejriwal on Tuesday.
Lt-Governor Najeeb Jung,meanwhile,has deputed officers to maintain continuity in administrative functioning till the new government takes charge.
