Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, Raghav Chadha, was Saturday appointed the party’s leader in the House in the absence of Sanjay Singh, party sources said.
Sanjay Singh, who was formerly the party leader in Rajya Sabha, is currently in jail in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. He was arrested on October 4 this year, becoming the third AAP leader to be imprisoned in the case, after former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and the party’s communications in-charge Vijay Nair.
Meanwhile, in a letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman, the AAP party leadership has said that in the absence of Sanjay Singh, who has “health issues”, Raghav Chadha will henceforth be the party’s leader in the Upper house, news agency PTI reported.
