Two people, including a 26-year-old Nigerian woman, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the distribution of drugs using an online delivery app, police said on Monday.

The duo was arrested on October 10 from an apartment in Mahipalpur Extension. The police also seized 195 grams of methamphetamine and 77 grams of another drug. It is yet to be confirmed if the drugs were cocaine or heroin.

Officers detained Mohammed Shadab, a 32-year-old resident of Saharanpur, from the flat where the drugs were seized. In addition, four digital weighing scales and Rs 57,000 in cash were also recovered. Shadab’s interrogation led the police to his accomplice, Clara, who was found in possession of an additional 50.54 grams of methamphetamine.

During his interrogation, Shadab allegedly revealed his previous involvement in human trafficking, which led him to connect with Nigerians.

In a bid to increase his earnings, Shadab allegedly shifted to supplying drugs to various hotels and clubs in the area.

He allegedly disclosed that he used the Porter app to deliver the drugs and concealed them within packages containing cheap T-shirts.
