Now, an app to lodge lost article report with police

The app was launched by Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Thursday at the Talkatora stadium in the capital.

Soon, there will be no need to visit a police station to lodge a lost article report. The Delhi Police has come out with an app through which one can enter the details of a lost article and get a printable digitally signed report in reply.
The same can be done through a web portal as well, police said.

The app was launched by Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Thursday at the Talkatora stadium in the capital.

Delhi police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said, “Such trouble-free lodging of a complaint, where a digitally signed report is instantaneously generated, brings about a paradigm shift in police functioning. This service is going to be a precursor for lodging of FIRs online.”

Delhi Police chief B S Bassi said the endeavour was started to reduce public inconvenience when it comes to lodging a report at the police station.
