A gang of four young men allegedly raped a 24-year-old woman during a party in North Delhi on Sunday night, after reportedly intoxicating her, the Delhi Police said. The victim’s female friend, who was reportedly part of the gang, filmed the alleged act, they added.

The police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the accused.

According to the police, the woman, a resident of Punjabi Bagh, was allegedly called by her friend to join her at a party.

The victim told the police that there were four young men at the house, apart from her friend, and alleged that something was mixed in her drinks, after which she became unconscious.

“The five then took her to the washroom, and the young men allegedly gang raped her. They also made a video, as claimed by the complainant, and threatened to release it on Instagram if she told anyone. They then dropped her outside her house,” a senior police officer said.

On Monday, the complainant went to the police station.

The police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 63 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita after recording her statement and taking her for a medical examination, an officer said.

The police said they are analysing CCTV footage to track the absconders.
