Noida: GST Deputy Commissioner jumps to death from 15th floor

A deputy commissioner in the Goods and Service Tax (GST) department died allegedly by suicide, after he jumped from the 15th floor of a housing society in Noida’s Sector 75, said police.

According to the Noida Police, the deputy commissioner, aged 57, suffered from cancer. He lived with his family. “The incident occurred at 10.45 am on Monday,” said an officer.

“The family members of the deceased have not yet lodged a complaint. We will take action after receiving the complaint,” officials said.

According to Noida’s Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sumit Shukla, “Around 10.45 am, he fell from the 15th floor of the society…”

“Following this, the residents informed the security guard and his family members. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. He had injuries on his head and other parts of the body,” Shukla said.
