Man jumps in front of Delhi Metro train, dies

A man died after jumping in front of an oncoming Metro at Lok Kalyan Marg Metro station Monday, said police. The man, Devendra Kumar (28) from Rajasthan’s Alwar, left no suicide note behind, said police.

On inspecting CCTV footage of the station, police found Kumar jumped onto the tracks at 5.47 pm. He was rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by doctors.

His identity was confirmed through an ID card found on him and his uncle, Deepak Saini, was informed. According to police, Kumar’s body has been preserved at the RML hospital mortuary and inquest proceedings under BNS section 194 are on to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
