A truck driver from Jhajjar was allegedly pulled out of his vehicle and assaulted by a group of men in Gurgaon over parking issues, the police said Saturday.
According to the police, Sunil Kumar, 35, claimed that on Wednesday he was initially confronted by a driver as he parked his vehicle, laden with building materials, in front of a plant in Baharampur. Sunil had come to load and unload goods in his vehicle.
“The man knocked at the conductor’s side of my vehicle with a rod. He yelled at me to park my truck elsewhere. When I asked the reason, he physically attacked me, used abusive language, and then quickly retreated to his own trailer truck parked nearby,” the First Information Report (FIR) quotes the complainant as saying.
Police said that the man, accompanied by a group of three-four men, came again, hit him with rods, intimidated him and hurled abusive words.
“The men blocked my vehicle, and one of them opened the window, slapped me, pulled me out, and began to assault me. One of them, Man Singh alias Kale, repeatedly struck me with the rod he was carrying, causing injuries. Later, they issued threats and fled the scene,” he stated in the complaint.
Soon after the incident, Sunil went to the government hospital in Sector 10.
“Sunil Kumar went back to his village in Jhajjar after treatment and came back to Gurgaon on Saturday to give his statement. We have identified one individual and arrest all the suspects soon,” said a police officer.
The police have registered a case sections 323, 341, 506, and 34 under Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Badshahpur police station.
