The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) escalated efforts to recover outstanding property tax dues, launching a rigorous sealing drive against defaulters across the city.
Special teams from the MCG’s Tax Branch targeted properties, including those within cyber parks, which have consistently failed to clear substantial tax arrears despite repeated notices.
On Tuesday, five properties in Zone-1 were sealed under the supervision of Zonal Taxation Officer Pankaj Kumar, assisted by Tax Inspector Pankaj Saluja and other staff members.
The action targeted properties with significant unpaid dues, including:
Auvana Munja, Bestech Cyber Park, Narsinghpur – ₹78,40,117
B.R. Arora, Bestech Cyber Park, Narsinghpur – ₹69,03,051
Harilok Properties, Bestech Cyber Park, Narsinghpur – ₹17,24,867
A property in Bestech Cyber Park, Narsinghpur – ₹1,49,80,950
An industrial/commercial property in Kadipur Industrial Area – ₹3,34,78,864
One of the sealed properties in Narsinghpur was noted to have three basements, highlighting the scale of some defaulters’ operations.
The sealing followed multiple warnings issued by the MCG, which went unheeded by the property owners.
“The MCG has made it clear that the crackdown is not limited to Zone-1. Tax recovery teams are gearing up to extend the sealing operations to Zones 2, 3, and 4 in the coming days, targeting a broader range of defaulters across Gurgaon. The corporation aims to ensure that all property owners meet their tax obligations to support the city’s development”, a spokesperson said.
MCG Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya emphasised the critical role of property tax revenue in funding essential civic amenities, infrastructure upgrades, and sanitation services.
“Property tax is a crucial resource for improving Gurgaon’s facilities and ensuring a better quality of life for residents,” he said.
Dahiya reiterated that the MCG will show no leniency towards defaulters, underscoring that tax payment is a civic responsibility that directly fuels the city’s growth.
He urged all property owners to promptly clear their dues to avoid further legal repercussions, warning that the corporation will continue its strict measures against non-compliant property owners.
