Kicking off admissions for 2024-25, Delhi University (DU) is set to tentatively open registrations for undergraduate courses by mid-May while that for postgraduate courses will start on April 25 said Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh Friday.
Along with postgraduate courses, registration for B.Tech and two five-year integrated programmes, including BA LLB, will also begin in April. The registration window will be open for a month, post which the second phase of admission will begin.
Admissions for PG, BTech and BA LLB courses will be through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), and Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) respectively.
This year, new PG programmes are open for admission: MA Hindu Studies, MA Public Health, MA Chinese Studies, MA Korean Studies and Master in Fine Arts.
Dean Admissions, Professor Haneet Gandhi, said admissions this year will be done on a total of 13,500 seats for postgraduate courses, 120 seats each for the three B.Tech courses, and 60 seats each for BA LLB and BBA LLB courses.
V-C Singh also lauded the improvement in the DU’s performance in QS rankings while adding the varsity also aims to be in the top 10 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
As per an official statement, the varsity said: “… The University has provided financial assistance and sanctioned approximately Rs 70 crore to the University Science Instrumentation Centre (USIC) at North Campus and the Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) at South Campus for the purchase of various high-end research equipment. It has strengthened and upgraded the Science Departments at North and South campuses and at USIC and CIF to facilitate the operation and repair of existing high-value, sophisticated equipment… (it) has provided financial assistance of about Rs 8 crore…”
