Delhi NCR IMD Weather Forecast Today Highlights The India Meteorological Department on Friday issued an ‘orange alert’ for the national capital, warning of rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 27.3 degrees Celsius, 1.3 degrees below the season’s average. Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘moderate’ category, with an AQI of 171 at 9 am, as per CPCB.

Delhi News Live Updates: 13-year-old girl found dead at Dwarka home, Delhi police suspect murder

A 13-year-old girl was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her rented home in South West Delhi on Thursday afternoon.

According to police officials, the Dabri police station received a PCR call reporting the incident in Dwarka’s Sitapuri area around 1.45 pm.

Preliminary investigation suggested that the girl might have been strangled, though officials are awaiting a post-mortem report for confirmation, the police said.

A man sitting outside his house in the Pul Prahladpur area of Southeast Delhi was robbed of his chain. The accused asked for an address and then snatched the chain before fleeing the scene. Delhi HC directs DPS Dwarka to let students continue studies, asks parents to deposit 50% of hiked fees

Saying that there is no embargo on schools hiking fees, the Delhi High Court has directed Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka to allow the 102 students, whose parents had moved the court against a school fee hike, to continue their studies, subject to 50 per cent of the hiked school fee for the 2024-25 academic year being deposited.

In a May 16 order made public on Wednesday, Justice Vikas Mahajan said, “…the law as it stands today, permits the school to fix the fees as per its projected expenses without prior approval of the DoE [Directorate of Education].” Read more

Delhi News Live Updates: 2 die, 3 injured in West Delhi as car hits cyclist, rams into hut

Two individuals died and three others were injured in West Delhi after a speeding car allegedly driven by a 19-year-old hit a cyclist and then crashed into a makeshift hut on the roadside early on Thursday, the police said.

The accident occurred on Pankha Road around 3.30 am and was reported via a PCR call to the Janakpuri police station, the police said.
