47 arrested for operating ‘illegal’ casino in Delhi’s Chhattarpur

According to police, the organisers allegedly engaged women to serve liquor and tokens to the players.

The Delhi Police arrested 47 persons from a Chattarpur farmhouse for allegedly operating an illegal casino, officers said on Friday.

Police said five organisers were also found involved in illegal activities. A cash amount of Rs 8 lakh, a casino table, casino tokens, illegal liquor, flavoured hookah and music system were seized from the farmhouse in Dera village of Chattarpur, police said.

According to police, the organisers allegedly engaged women to serve liquor and tokens to the players. As many as 20 women were found in the casino by the police.

During interrogation, police said the organisers told them that the casino was being run from rented premises and entry was restricted to persons through a passcode, “Guruji”. They used to call customers known to them, and shared the the location via WhatsApp, said police.
