A 23-year-old woman, who was allegedly molested by a patient at a Delhi government-run hospital, died during treatment at another hospital in Northeast Delhi, police said on Wednesday.
According to police, the woman, who was suspected to be homeless, was admitted to the JPC Hospital on June 21. On June 23, when she went out of the ward, she was allegedly molested by another patient in the hospital.
“After the incident, she was subsequently referred to GTB Hospital for specialised treatment. As per her medical examination, no visible external injuries were noted at the time of examination,” the police said in a statement.
A case was filed after information was received from GTB Hospital that the patient had died on Wednesday. Police added that further action will be taken based on the postmortem report.
