Karnataka MP Prajwal Revanna boarded a Lufthansa flight from Munich to Bengaluru on Thursday afternoon, Interpol has informed a Karnataka Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the sexual harassment cases against the absconding JD(S) leader.

The SIT, Bengaluru police and immigration authorities have made arrangements to arrest the Hassan MP on his arrival at the Bengaluru International Airport at the scheduled landing time of the flight from Munich at 12.35 am on May 31. Revanna had left India on April 27.

SIT sources said that the Interpol had alerted the authorities in Karnataka about Revanna’s check-in and boarding of the Lufthansa flight from Munich in Germany, which was scheduled at 3.35 pm IST (12.05 pm local time) on Thursday. A Blue Corner notice for Prajwal Revanna had been issued earlier this month by the Interpol on the insistence of the SIT.

Revanna, who was again fielded from Hassan seat as an NDA candidate for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, had informed the SIT two days ago through a video message that he would present himself before the probe agency at 10 am on May 31.

His return was prompted by the impending expiry of his diplomatic passport on June 4 when his current term as an MP ends.

The SIT, which has an arrest warrant for the MP, is expected to take Prajwal Revanna into custody on his arrival in the early hours of Friday. A local court Wednesday adjourned the hearing of his anticipatory bail plea to Friday mid-morning.

“He will first be detained by immigration authorities, who will execute the look out circular issued against his name, and will be handed to the local police. The SIT will take custody from the local police,” an SIT official said.
