Producer Bryan Fuller has revealed that ‘Friday the 13th’ reboot will delve into Jason Voorhees’s back story and motivations.
The screenplay of the film has been written by Prisoners scribe Aaron Guzikowski, reported Digital Spy.
“Aaron’s story has great characters…You kind of have to understand Jason Voorhees, so we go back and we kind of started over and work our way forward,” said Fuller.
Although he admitted it’s an “Origin-ish” story, he added, “It’s an origin that no-one has seen before. Obviously Pamela’s there, but it’s a little bit different from what you’ve seen before.”
This project has been in development since 2013.
“Friday the 13th” is slated for 2017.
