Tere Ishk Mein box office collection day 2: Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s romantic drama Tere Ishq Mein, which opened to mixed reviews on November 28, is enjoying a steady run at the Indian box office. According to the industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 17 crore on Saturday, after earning Rs 16 crore on Friday, taking the total to Rs 33 crore.

Tere Ishk Mein recorded an overall 27.92% theatre occupancy in Hindi on its second day, with morning shows at 12.08%, afternoon at 26.60%, evening at 29.25%, and night shows peaking at 43.74%. Chennai registered the highest occupancy at 45.75%. In comparison, the Tamil version saw an overall theatre occupancy of 19.94%.

The romantic drama still lags behind Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara, starring Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday in the lead role. It had collected Rs 21 crore on its opening day, Rs 24 crore on day 2. However, the film has emerged as Dhanush’s biggest Day 1 opener this year, surpassing his South Indian films, Kuberaa and Idli Kadaai.

Beyond figures, Tere Ishk Mein has drawn a wide range of reactions, something SCREEN’s review reflects sharply. An excerpt of Shubhra Gupta’s review read, “In 2025, so many elements in the film are problematic at so many levels, starting with a ‘hero’ whose uncontrollable temper can’t be in all honesty explained away by his mother-less childhood, with a perfectly supportive father (Prakash Raj) at his back. Dousing PhD scholar Mukti’s (Kriti Sanon) potential boyfriends with petrol, and fire-bombing her IAS father’s (Tota Roy Chowdhury) house isn’t intensity, it’s just toxicity, and what can one say of Mukti’s slipping down the path of alcoholic misery? It’s damaging to the whole idea of a female lead being able to stick to her point of view.”

Produced under the banners of T-Series and Colour Yellow Productions, Tere Ishk Mein has been directed by Aanand L Rai. The film features music by AR Rahman, with lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil.
