Actor Sara Ali Khan, who was last seen in Gaslight has recently opened up about her equation with her parents Amrita Singh and father Saif Ali Khan. Here, she opened up about how even the thought of living a life without her mother “scares” her as for her, she is the reason to “wake up” each morning. Sara also shared that one advice her father gave her when she became an actor.
In a recent interview with News18, Sara shared, “Visualising life without mom to any degree is what scares me the most. Most often the one thing that I can definitely rely on is that mom is the reason to wake up. On most days, that’s it, that’s the reason. I can’t not have that.”
Sara started her career as an actor in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath with Sushant Singh Rajput in 2018. The actor has now revealed how her father, actor Saif Ali Khan neither meddles in her work nor does he give too much advice, but had once given her guidance on how to pick scripts and that she continues to follow it.
Sara, when asked if her father has given her any tips on acting, she opened up on how he’s told her to always read her own scripts and then decide whether she wants to do a particular film or not.
She shared, “My father doesn’t read my scripts or help me pick them. He has told me, ‘As an actor, if you’re reading a script and feel at the end of it that you want to do it, then do it.’ Kisi aur ko padha ke kya hi milega (what will you get by making others read your script)! Other people have their own convictions and guts but I’ve my own.”
Sara’s Gaslight is streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar. In the film also starring Chitrangada Singh and Vikram Massey, Sara plays the role of a woman who, after a protracted absence, visits her ancestral home to find her father missing.
Sara will be next be seen in Laxman Utekar’s untitled film with Vicky Kaushal. The actor is now shooting Homi Adajania’s Mubarak, which is a murder mystery, with Karisma Kapoor. After wrapping these projects Sara will start shooting Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino with Aditya Roy Kapur and Kannan Iyer’s Ae Watan Mere Watan.
