India gets six-month US sanctions waiver for Chabahar port, says MEA
India has received a six-month exemption from US sanctions on the Chabahar port in Iran, which is being developed by India, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said during a press briefing on Thursday. The US had previously withdrawn the sanctions waiver granted to the port, which is strategically important for India as it provides a direct trade route to Afghanistan and Central Asia.
