The house where filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock wrote “The Birds” is on market for USD 1.4 million.

The four-bedroom,four-bath Colonial hit the market in Pound Ridge,Westchester County.

Hitchcock’s horror classic was penned at the residence in Pound Ridge,Westchester County and that dark creative energy has continued into more recent times, reported New York Daily News.

Current owner John Hart wrote the script for Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”,directed by Francis Ford Coppola as well as the Jodie Foster film “Contact” and “Epic”,an animated movie launching May 24 voiced by Beyonce,Amanda Seyfried and Colin Farrell.

Hart only recently learned that “The Birds”,which turns 50 this year, was written in the barn he has worked in since buying the property in 1994,right after he penned and was paid for “Dracula”.

“We call this the house Dracula bought. The odd thing is I write with a famous photograph of Hitchcock over my shoulder for inspiration. Lots of coincidences like that occurred. One day,out of nowhere, hundreds of birds landed in the surrounding trees,” Hart said.
