The road trip from Mumbai to Delhi to promote ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ has led to a never-had-before experience, says the films’ star Hrithik Roshan.
Hrithik, who has embarked on a trip through six cities with his co-stars Abhay Deol,Katrina Kaif and Farhan Akhtar, said he was excited to see Gujarat in the rains.
I am excited to eat delicious and tasty Gujarati food and to see Vadodara,Surat and other parts of Central and South Gujarat in the rains which I had never experienced before, said Hrtithik.
The group had set off from Mumbai on Thursday morning and reached Vadodara late last night after halting in Surat for some time.
The entire cast, including me,is excited about this road trip which has never been done before. I have visited Gujarat, including Vadodara,on some occasions in the past but it used to be a journey by flight.
This is the first road trip… and it gives me an opportunity to interact with fans and people, who have turned up to meet us despite heavy rains, Hrithik said.
The idea for the journey,in a fleet of cars,is taken from the film in which three friends – Hrithik,Farhan and Abhay – hit the dirt on a road trip that changes their lives forever.
Director Zoya Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani accompanied the actors on their way to Delhi. However,Kalki Koechlin could not join them due to health reasons.
The cast,at the end of their four-day 1500 kms drive, will perform a live concert at a mall in Gurgaon,Haryana on Sunday.
Farhan said during the four-day road trip the contingent is scheduled to halt at Surat,Vadodara,Ahmedabad,Udaipur,Ajmer, and Jaipur before reaching Delhi on Sunday.
Sidhwani said Hrithik,Farhan and Abhay have been driving alternatively and enjoying it.
Despite the tiresome road journey from Mumbai, the crew of ZNMD visited Laxmi Vilas Palace, the residential palace of royal Gaekwad family who ruled the erstwhile princely state of Baroda for more than 200 years.
