Jigra box office collection day 8: Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina’s film Jigra has failed to make an impact at the box office, as it has not even managed to hit the Rs 25 crore mark after a week in the cinemas. Right after day 3, the Vasan Bala directorial started to see a significant dip in numbers, which has only dropped since. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, early estimates for day 8 (Friday) show a further drop in Jigra’s box office collection.
On Thursday, Jigra earned Rs 1.25 crore and on Friday, the film raked in Rs 1.15 crore. The movie’s total collection after eight days stands at Rs 23.60 crore. On October 18, the film’s occupancy was recorded at 9.44 per cent.
Considering Jigra’s Telugu version has been promoted by bigwigs down South like Rana Daggubati and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, it helped the film to see some footfalls in that market. However, the number of shows for Jigra all over the country has also significantly declined. Chennai has the highest occupancy at 34.67 per cent with 12 shows. Bengaluru follows with 16.25 per cent with 127 shows.
With 516 shows, the occupancy for the film in Delhi NCR is just 7.25 per cent, whereas in Mumbai, it is 11.75 per cent with 409 shows.

While Jigra received mixed reviews, what further affected the film’s run at the box office was negative word of mouth. The filmmakers received some backlash after they were accused of inflating box office numbers.
Jigra has been produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions.
