Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the man of the moment. The terrific actor can’t do anything wrong as far as acting is concerned. In his first out-and-out commercial film as a solo lead, Nawaz has impressed his fans again and how.
At Carnival cinemas which we I visited, the audience was all praise for Nawazuddin. And this time impressing them were not his psychotic histrionics but his impeccable comic timing.
Said a viewer, “We got to see a new facet of Nawazuddin today. We have seen him in dark roles like Badlapur and Raman Raghav but this was such a refreshing change. And his comic timing just floored us.”
The plot too successfully cut ice with the audience with almost everyone being able to find a connect with the game of golf. Explained a female viewer, “Golf is not something many of us play or watch. But the film doesn’t make it complicated and makes it easy for us to not just understand but enjoy the way golf has been woven into the fabric of the story.”
Arbaaz Khan who plays a supporting role also came in for some praise for being nonchalant in his approach while playing second fiddle. There were a few who felt, however, that the Khan brother was wasted in this out and out Nawaz show.

Amy Jackson many felt was a mismatch as Nawaz’s leading lady.

Looking at the way masses have been reacting after the first show, Freaky Ali looks all set to work well courtesy positive word of mouth. As a viewer aptly said, “Freaky Ali is the kind of movie to which you would want to watch instead of Baar Baar Dekho.”
Let’s wait and see if this film will be the sleeper hit of the season.
