Veteran Telugu actor Vijaya Rangaraju died at a private hospital in Chennai after suffering a heart attack on January 20. According to reports, he was taken to the hospital around a week ago after he suffered an injury while filming his upcoming movie in Hyderabad. After that, he was rushed to Chennai for further medical assistance. Unfortunately, he breathed his last breath while undergoing treatment.
The Telugu Film Producers Council confirmed the news of his death on their social media account. They wrote, “Actor #VijayaRangaRaju passes away due to heart attack.”
Rangaraju’s last rites will take place in Chennai. Vijaya Rangaraju is survived by his two daughters, Deekshita and Padmini.

Vijaya Rangaraju was popular for his villainous and supporting roles in Telugu and Malayalam cinema. He made his Telugu debut with Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhairava Dweepam, in which he essayed a villain. But, it was his portrayal of the powerful antagonist in Yagnam that created a huge impact.
Vijaya Rangaraju gained widespread fame in Kerala for his portrayal of the main antagonist Rowther in the action-comedy Vietnam Colony, directed by Siddique-Lal duo and featuring Mohanlal in the lead role. Both the film and his character became iconic, securing a prominent place in the legacy of Malayalam cinema.
Apart from acting, he was also passionate about bodybuilding and weightlifting.
