Tamil actor Vijay has stirred excitement among fans in Kerala as he has returned to the state after a 14-year hiatus to shoot for his highly anticipated film The Greatest Of All Time. Directed by Venkat Prabu, the movie has been shrouded in anticipation, as it could possibly be Vijay’s last film as the actor is entering politics full-time. His return brought the Thiruvananthapuram airport to a standstill as fans flocked the place to get a glimpse of their ‘Thalapathy’.
Many videos are going viral on social media, which stand testament to the crazy fan following for Vijay in the state. Not just the airport, heavy security has been deployed to accompany the actor across the state.
Videos circulating online capture the fervent atmosphere at the airport, with fans cheering and expressing their adoration for the actor.
Earlier, when Lokesh Kanagaraj, the director of Vijay’s last film Leo, visited Kerala, he was mobbed by a huge crowd. He managed to travel back safely, and the fan-following for Vijay is several folds high in the state.
Leo had a remarkable run at the Kerala box office, grossing over Rs 60 crore.
In The Greatest Of All Time, Vijay will share the screen with Prabhudheva, Prashanth, Vinay, Meenakshi Chaudhry, Sneha, and Mohan. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing music for the film.
Produced by AGS Entertainment, the movie, shot across various locations including Chennai, Thailand, Hyderabad, and Pondicherry, is nearing completion and is slated for a theatrical release later this year.
