Actor Keerthy Suresh tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend and entrepreneur Antony Thattil on December 12 in a traditional South Indian ceremony in Goa. This was followed by a white wedding on December 15. In a recent interview, Keerthy recalled the challenges of her long-distance relationship with Antony and her father’s reaction to the Christian wedding.

In an interview with Galatta India, the Baby John actor opened up about her emotions after the wedding and said, “It’s a dream, literally. I can’t even call it a dream because we have had nightmares of eloping. My heart was full and it was a very emotional moment for us because we always wanted this. It’s not like we started off very strongly. We started off dating when I was in 12th class and he is seven years older than me.”

Keerthy Suresh shared that she had a long-distance relationship with Antony Thattil for the longest time. “He was working, and we had a long-distance relationship for 5-6 years. I was in college and he used to work in Qatar. He came back to India for good after 4-5 years. He set up his own business in Cochin and now he is setting it up in Chennai, and then he might do it in Dubai,” she said.

Keerthy continued, “I started my acting career and he has been very supportive throughout my entire journey. For every girl, her dad is a superhero. If somebody has to be her superhero after her dad, it should be her partner. And, I still see a lot of my dad in him, be it his principles, the way he deals with people, and the way he holds our entire group together. Today, I am very proud of the person that he is.”

Keerthy Suresh also shared how she never thought her dad would partake in the rituals of a Christian wedding. “I asked my father, ‘Dads are supposed to walk the bride down the aisle, will you do that for me?’ He replied, ‘Ya, why not? We are doing both ways of the wedding, why not? Who else will walk you down.’ I was like ‘Wow’. I never thought he would say ok to it and I am really happy he did that for me.”
