Presently, Lokah Chapter One is around Rs 56 crore short of becoming the biggest Malayalam blockbuster of all time. L2 Empuraan is currently the number one Malayalam film ever, with Rs 266 crore globally, but the film released in multiple languages, and had a massive budget. In comparison, it has been reported that Lokah’s budget was only around Rs 30 crore. The second and third-biggest grossers are Manjummel Boys (Rs 241 crore) and Thudarum (Rs 235 crore) respectively.
Directed by Dominic Arun, Lokah Chapter One is produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films. In a recent interview, actor Sandy spoke about Dulquer’s support and shared with Behindwoods, “Dulquer Salmaan sir was like a teacher, who was guiding all of us students (the cast and crew) on the sets and made our jobs easier. He created a team and made us work diligently for the film.”
Sandy also opened up about the sequel and the possibility of Mammootty being a part of it, and said, “I don’t know about the next part. But everyone knows by now that it was indeed Mammootty sir’s voice only (in Lokah Chapter 1 – Chandra). Lokah 2 is definitely going to happen, but we haven’t started work on that till now.”
