War 2 box office collection day 1 early report: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR‘s War 2 generated significant buzz ahead of its release. However, early reports suggest the film has not fully met expectations, and its box-office performance may fall short of predictions. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the War sequel collected Rs 35.97 crore as of 8 p.m. on Thursday.
The overall Hindi occupancy for War 2 stood at 23.02%, with 6,256 shows across India. Chennai recorded the highest Hindi occupancy at 71.67% with 64 shows, while Hyderabad followed with 65.67% across 280 shows. In Mumbai, War 2 registered a modest 16% occupancy over 1,141 shows, whereas Delhi reported 25.33% across 1,477 shows. The Telugu version, meanwhile, performed better, recording an overall occupancy of 71.67% with 115 shows nationwide.
War 2 marks Jr NTR’s Bollywood debut. Mounted on a grand scale, the film is part of YRF’s spy universe and released alongside Rajinikanth’s Coolie at the box office. According to Sacnilk, Rajinikanth’s film has outperformed War 2, earning Rs 49.57 crore as of 8 pm on Thursday.
Meanwhile, War 2 has outperformed Hrithik Roshan’s previous film Fighter, which had earned Rs 22.5 crore on its opening day at the box office.

An excerpt from SCREEN’s review of War 2 read, “War 2, directed by Ayan Mukherji, is so limp that you are left looking for zing. And that comes, fleetingly, in the glimpses we get of the next editions, one in which we have the return of our duo, and, in the other, wait for it, the advent of Bobby Deol-Alia Bhatt’s ‘Alpha’. Will that be the one?”
Besides Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, War 2 also stars Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles.
