Actor couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, along with filmmaker Rohit Shetty on Monday reached Ayodhya to attend the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony. Ranbir Kapoor, who is set to play Lord Ram in the upcoming screen adaptation of Ramayan by Dangal filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, was seen stepping out of his car wearing a dhoti-kurta. He was seen greeting Rohit Shetty, who was already present at the gate.

The duo was joined by Alia Bhatt, dressed in a saree. Ranbir and Alia had received the invitation to attend the ceremony earlier this month. The couple was later seen at the airport in Ayodhya as they received a warm welcome. The Bollywood celebs were garlanded and welcomed with roses. Ranbir and Alia were seen greeting people with folded hands and waving at the bystanders.
X (formerly Twitter) users also posted pictures of Mukesh Ambani’s residence Antilia, which was decked up with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ hologram in Hindi all over the 27-storey building.
The celebrations in Ayodhya began on January 16 and will culminate with the installation of the Ram Lalla idol in the grand temple. The Ram mandir is spread over 70 acres and will be open to the public after Prime Minister Narendra Modi does the pran pratishtha on Monday.
Over 7,000 people are on the invitee list of the temple trust, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, including politicians, Bollywood celebrities, cricketers, industrialists, and more. Several film industry celebrities, including Rajinikanth, Dhanush, Kangana Ranaut, Shefali Shah, and Anupam Kher among others, have already reached Ayodhya.
Others who are expected to join to ceremony today include megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Sunny Deol, Tiger Shroff, Rajkumar Hirani, Ayushmann Khurrana, Ajay Devgn, Prabhas, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Yash, and Rishab Shetty.
All distinguished guests invited for the “pran pratishtha”, or the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol will be given special gifts on the occasion, according to the temple trust.
