Actor R Madhavan’s latest film, Hisaab Barabar, which is currently streaming on Zee5, is a film about financial fraud, the idea of financial security, and how everything has the potential to boom and crumble at the same time. In a recent interview with ETimes, Madhavan was joined by the film’s co-stars Kirti Kulhari and Neil Nitin Mukesh as they discussed a multitude of things, including their own personal understanding of their finances, and more.

Madhavan candidly admitted that his father’s financial advice proved to be one of his biggest setbacks in the early 2000s, and how he understands the value of time and money as the years have progressed. “Right after my first film, Alaipayuthey, I starred in a few advertisements. Adding some more layers to how the Madhavan household deals with finances, the actor said that he is an artiste, and not happy with numbers. He said he has a working knowledge of his finances. “But my wife (Sarita) is a blood hound and makes sure everything is accounted for,” he added.

He said that cutting down his finance to the barebone levels has actually helped him. “You understand how important your time is…”
