Anyone with a Bollywood connection would have a Shah Rukh Khan story to tell, and in a recent interview, singer Mika Singh happily elaborated on the many great memories he shares with the actor. Mika recalled the time when he gifted a ring worth Rs 50 lakh to the star and also spoke about the time when he lent his car, a Hummer, to the actor.
“He is one of the best actors and gentlemen. I always wear this ring (points to his finger), which is worth Rs 50 lakh. I have gifted similar rings to Amitabh Bachchan and Gurdas Maan too, but the first person I gave one to was SRK. I wanted to do something for the three of them. But I had nothing else to offer them, so I gifted them rings. My ring might not have even mattered to him since he could own rings worth Rs 50 crore or more. But he is very sweet and thanked me for the gift,” Mika shared during a chat with Pinkvilla.
He shared that the next day, Shah Rukh called him and wanted to return the expensive gift but Mika wanted him to keep it. “The next day, I got a call from him saying, ‘This is very expensive… Paaji, please take the ring back.’ I replied, ‘I am a big devotee of yours and love you very much. I don’t expect you to get me to sing for you or even meet me.’ Since then, I have gotten to know him a little better,” he said.
Mika shared another memory with the star where he met the star at a studio, SRK was shooting for Happy New Year and Mika was shooting for a video with Himesh Reshammiya. SRK asked Mika to visit him when he wrapped up but Mika said that in case King Khan got done earlier, then he should pay a visit to Himesh’s set. “His shoot wrapped up before ours and true to his word, Shah Rukh Khan came to our set,” he recalled.
Mika said that Shah Rukh “hung out on the set for an hour” and was just observing their work. “Meanwhile, Himesh bhai was sweating profusely. After a while, the crowd had grown so large that SRK was quite far from his car. So, I suggested he take my Hummer to get out. He asked, ‘Are you sure?’ and when I said yes, he got inside the car and my driver went with him to drop him off. I messaged him later telling him to return the car only when he felt like it. He liked the vehicle a lot and ended up keeping it for about three months,” Mika shared.
