Mika Singh, who has explored various facets of the entertainment industry, once decided to try his hand at film production with a web series called Dangerous, starring Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover. However, in a candid conversation, he called it the “biggest mistake of his life.” He said that he could nhave bought a luxury car with the same money instead of investing in that project.

“Anyone in Bollywood with some money, please invest in property. Otherwise, by becoming a producer, you will end up sinking your own ship. I made a film worth Rs 14 crore with my favorite heroine Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover. If I hadn’t made that film, I could have bought a brand-new Rolls Royce. That would have been better than burning money. So now, whenever I get money, I invest directly in property or a car; otherwise, you’ll make a fool of yourself,” he told with Galatta India.

Reflecting on his experience, Mika said, “As a producer, I made a really good film with a big star cast. Obviously, Bipasha Basu is a huge name. So if I, a newcomer producer, could sign such big stars and make a movie, it shows I’m a good producer. We shot for 50 days in London. Our director, Vikram Bhatt, wrote the story. Bhushan Patel, who directed Alone, the film featuring Karan and Bipasha, was also involved. Since it had been five years since Alone released, I thought if Karan Singh Grover agreed to do my film, it would be great. He’s a good-looking guy, and his film Hate Story 3 was a superhit, so he agreed to work with me. But I’m not sure how Bipasha became involved midway or what kind of rapport they shared, but it caused me a lot of loss.”

Mika also revealed how many top stars warned him against producing films: “I’m not upset with Bipasha or Karan. I’m upset with myself. I took a reckless risk. Akshay Kumar advised me against it. Salman Khan told me that if I want to make a film, I should star in it myself. Salman said, ‘If the film hits or flops, at least you’ll be there in it. Otherwise, you’ll just cry over someone else’s hits and flops.’ So now, I’m acting in my next production. And I won’t make the same mistakes again.”

Dangerous was eventually released as a mini-web series on MX Player. Written by Vikram Bhatt and directed by Bhushan Patel, the series marked Bipasha Basu’s digital debut alongside Karan Singh Grover.
